Jake Placzek

Jake’s baseball career started at 9 years old where he played for the Omaha Pacesetter’s. He was with the Pacesetter’s for five years, during this time is where he learned the game inside and out, playing multiple positions under Bill Olson and Tim McDermott.  Jake continued his career as a four year varsity starter playing short stop at Papillion-LaVista High School where he was an All-Nebraska selection his senior year in 2012. After completing his final season with Papillion-LaVista, Jake went on to play infield for the Huskers at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.  There he was a four year starter playing short stop, second base and third base under Coach Darrin Erstad.  During his time at Nebraska, Jake worked with Nebraska’s youth providing baseball instruction at the Nebraska Baseball Academy’s fall and summer camps.  Jake looks forward to working with young players again, “It is so rewarding seeing the kids’ game grow and  I love spreading the knowledge I’ve learned since I was a kid.”
